ABOUT THE DOMAIN
The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is an emblematic entity which is lost in the echo of time. The vines, first tended by the priors of Saint-Vivant, have gone through history, from the purchase by Prince Louis-François de Bourbon-Conti in 1760 to the revolutionary confiscation. But the estate regained its splendor when it was acquired by Jacques-Marie Duvault Blochet in 1879. Currently under the leadership of Henry-Frédéric Roch, Lalou Bize-Leroy and Aubert de Villaine, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, often referred to as by its acronym DRC, has a prestigious blend of great wines. Although Romanée-Conti is the quintessence of the estate, each of the plots, carefully cultivated biodynamically, produces wines of exceptional quality. Yields are carefully controlled, sometimes resulting in unproduced vintages when quantities are too low. The exclusivity and unrivaled quality of the wines from this estate justify their high prices.
ABOUT THE CUVÉE
Emanating from the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, this cuvée, from the grand cru Les Echézeaux, is a celebration of the historical and viticultural richness of Burgundy. Les Echézeaux, with its 37 hectares, stands proudly among the eight grands crus of Vosne-Romanée, a living tribute to the intuition of the monks of Cîteaux Abbey who saw the exceptional potential of this terroir. On this vast expanse, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti covers almost five hectares, producing a limited quantity of bottles each year. Characterized by a remarkable precocity, this Pinot Noir is often considered the most “accessible” in the area. It offers a harmonious fusion of red fruits, flowers and spices, combining suppleness and freshness. Its complexity and persistence encourage maturation in the cellar, allowing it to reveal all its nobility over time. An exceptional wine that can be enjoyed alone, while meditating on its rich history, or as an accompaniment to refined gastronomic dishes.
